TOPICS OF THE CONFERENCE
The Project will among other things seek to also address:
1. How can governance system be transformed so as to provide better and efficient representation of young people?
2. What are the appropriate roles of youth wings of political parties?
3. What role can young people and MP play in regional initiatives such as ECOWAS, the AU and NEPAD?
4. What can be done to address the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS
5. The use of ICT as a tool for Africa's development
In this context and in recognition of the significant role that youth and MPs can play in effectively addressing the issues of democracy and governance, gender, including participation in consultations for NEPAD in West Africa, the West African Youth Network is seeking support to organize a Regional Symposium for young people and MPs from across West Africa in April 2005 at the FOPADESC International Center in Lome, Togo.
